What is Wolf Territories Grid?
A large OpenSimulator (OpenSim) virtual world — the largest by land area — where you can explore, build a home, run a business, fly aircraft, sail, and meet people. It works like Second Life, but it is independently run, membership is free, and land costs a fraction of the price.
Is it free to join?
Yes. Creating an avatar is free and your account arrives with a full starter inventory. You only ever pay if you choose to rent land or buy in-world currency.
How do I get in-world?
Two ways. The instant way: open WolfStorm, our browser viewer, at wolf-grid.com/wolfstorm — no download needed. Or install a desktop viewer such as Firestorm and add our grid: the login URI is http://grid.wolfterritories.org:8002/ — then log in with your avatar name and password.
What is WolfStorm?
Our own browser-based viewer. It runs in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and most modern browsers with nothing to install — including voice chat. It's the fastest way to see the grid, and it's what powers screen sharing in world too.
How much does land cost?
A region of your own starts at about £7 (roughly $9) a month, with everything from small parcels up to huge 4x4 estates. There are no contracts — you can cancel any time. See the land store on the main site for current prices.
Does the grid have its own money?
Yes — Wolf Territories Dollars (WT$). You can buy WT$ on the website and spend them in-world on land, shopping and services.
Does voice chat work?
Yes — and it's positional: voices come from where people stand and fade with distance. We run our own open-source voice platform, WolfVoice, rather than the legacy Vivox service other grids use. If your voice isn't working, the Voice FAQ on the main site walks through every fix.
Can I visit from other grids (Hypergrid)?
Yes, Wolf Territories is Hypergrid-enabled. From another OpenSim grid, use the hypergrid address grid.wolfterritories.org:8002 to teleport in. Local accounts get the full experience — some features, like certain purchases, are limited for hypergrid visitors.
Can I bring my things from another grid?
Hypergrid visitors can wear and carry what their home grid allows out. If you settle here with a local account, you start with our full starter library, and creators can upload their own content — mesh, textures, animations and sounds — like on any OpenSim grid.
Are my region and inventory backed up?
Region owners can back up (OAR) and restart their regions themselves from the website control panel, and inventory backup tools are built in. The grid also runs its own infrastructure backups.
I'm a creator — can I sell here?
Yes. There's an in-world marketplace, land for shops, and an active events calendar to promote on. Uploads (mesh, textures, sounds, animations) work the same as other OpenSim grids.
Where do I get help?
The fastest route is our Discord community — the invite link is on the main site. You can also raise a ticket through the Contact page, or ask in world; the community is friendly and staff are around daily.
