Terms of Service

Last updated and effective 26 October 2026. These terms replace all earlier versions.

What changed on 26 October 2026

Adult Content regions are open. Pornographic content is allowed there and nowhere else, and only residents who have passed our free age check can enter (section 6). Owners have extra rules (section 5).
Adult items may be bought and kept by anyone, but only age-checked adults can use them.
Under-18s cannot buy from or pay a stranger’s object, and strangers can no longer send them items, money or group invitations (section 1).
The region types (General, Moderate, Adult and Adult Content) are explained in section 6, with rules for region owners in section 5.
Under-18 accounts are now protected by our servers: only friends can contact them privately, and they cannot enter Adult regions (section 1).
A date of birth is required to join.
You can report in-world with Report Abuse, and you can appeal our decisions (section 10). See our Online Safety page.

What changed on 25 October 2026

Pornographic content is no longer allowed anywhere on the grid, including Adult-rated regions (since 26 October it is allowed in Adult Content regions only). Adult-rated regions may still have adult themes that are not pornographic, such as strong violence, horror and strong language. See No pornographic content in section 6.

We have also made the age rules clearer in section 1: you must be 15 or over, and under-18s must not enter Adult-rated regions.

Who we are. Wolf Territories Grid is owned and operated by IntelligentWolf Ltd, Oak House, Reeds Crescent, Watford, WD24 4QP, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). You can reach us through our contact page.

By creating an avatar, logging in, or otherwise using Wolf Territories Grid, its website and its services, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the grid.

1. Who can use the grid

You must be at least 15 years old to use Wolf Territories Grid. We do not accept anyone aged 14 or under.

Everyone who joins must give their date of birth, and we refuse anyone aged 14 or under. If your account was made before we asked, please add your date of birth. If we find that an account belongs to someone aged 14 or under, we will close it.
If you are 15, 16 or 17, you must not enter Adult-rated regions, and an account whose date of birth shows it is under 18 cannot enter them. Owners of Adult-rated regions must not invite or let in anyone under 18.
Adult Content regions are only for residents who have passed our age check. Anyone under 18 must not try to pass it.
To help keep under-18s safe, only their friends can send them private messages, items, teleport offers and private voice calls. They cannot buy from or pay an object owned by a stranger, and strangers cannot send them WT$. Strangers’ objects cannot give them items or money, and group invitations from strangers are blocked. Our Online Safety page lists every protection.
18 and over may use every area of the grid that is open to them.

You agree to give your real date of birth, and accurate details whenever we ask. Giving false details is a breach of these terms.

2. Your account

You are responsible for everything done with your avatar. Keep your password private.
Give us a working email address. We use it for password resets and messages about your account.
Do not sell, share or transfer your account, and do not use another person’s account.
Alternate avatars (“alts”) are allowed, but using them to evade a ban, harass people or manipulate the economy is not.

3. Content and copyright

Everything built on the grid belongs to its original copyright owner, not to Wolf Territories Grid or IntelligentWolf Ltd. We claim no ownership of anything you or anyone else creates, uploads or rezzes.
By uploading or rezzing content, you confirm that you own it or have the right to use it here.
Respect the permissions creators set on their items. Copying, exporting or redistributing other people’s content without permission, on or off the grid, is prohibited.
Anything you display in a publicly accessible area may appear in other residents’ snapshots and videos (machinima). If you do not want that, keep the content in a private region or an area with restricted access.
The Wolf Territories name, logos and branding belong to us. You may not use them without our written permission.
Open-source software we make available is covered by its own licence, and you must follow that licence.

4. Copyright (DMCA) complaints

If you believe content on the grid infringes your copyright, send us a complaint through the contact page or a support ticket. We will consider it only if it includes proper evidence:

your name, postal address and email address;
a description of the work you own, and evidence that you own it, such as original files, dated source material or registration records;
where the infringing content is: region name, coordinates, object or avatar names;
a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that the information in your complaint is accurate;
your signature, or a typed name, as the copyright owner or someone authorised to act for them.

Complaints without this evidence will not be acted on. We may pass a complaint to the person responsible for the content so they can respond.

Wolf Territories Grid is run by a UK company and is governed by UK law. We accept complaints that refer to the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), but a US notice alone does not decide who owns the content. Where ownership is disputed, it must be settled in a UK court, and we will act on that court’s decision. Until then, we may remove or restrict the content if the evidence supports doing so.

5. Region owners and hosted content

You rez it, you are responsible for it. We rent you server space.

IntelligentWolf Ltd provides hosting. We do not create or publish the content residents place on the grid, but we do act on reports and remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

Region owners are responsible for all content in their regions, including content placed there by their tenants, group members and visitors they allow to build.
Every resident is responsible for the content they upload or rez, wherever they rez it.
Region owners and residents indemnify IntelligentWolf Ltd against any claim, loss, cost or legal liability arising from content in their region or content they uploaded, including copyright claims. This includes our reasonable legal costs.
This does not stop us removing content, or suspending a region, when it breaks these terms or the law, or when a court orders it.

Rules for region owners

Set your region to the region type that matches what is on it, and keep its content within that type. If in doubt, choose the stricter type.
No pornographic content on any region that is not an Adult Content region (section 6).
On an Adult region, you must not invite or let in anyone you know or suspect is under 18, whatever their account says.
If we tell you about a report concerning your region, deal with it promptly and work with us. If content in your region breaks these terms, we may remove it, change your region's type or listing, or suspend the region.

Adult Content regions

Only the region owner, or the owner of its estate, can switch a region to Adult Content, on the Region type page of the control panel. Before that, you must:

pass the age check yourself, on Verify my age;
agree to the Adult Content Region Agreement;
pay the Adult Content charge of £10 a month for each region, on top of its rent. The region is switched on once the payment has gone through. If you switch it off, its charge stops at once, and the part of the month already paid is not refunded.

The agreement says:

everyone in the region must be 18 or over; only residents who have passed the age check can get in, and our servers enforce this for everyone, including you, your managers and our staff;
only legal pornographic content between adult avatars, and nothing involving child or child-like avatars in any sexual way, ever;
no extreme pornography, no sexual violence, and no images of real people without their consent;
no AI-made sexual content (section 8);
adult content items stay inside Adult Content regions: do not rez, wear, show or give them anywhere else;
do not try to let in anyone who has not passed the age check (access lists and groups do not override it);
reply to our reports about your region within 5 working days, and remove anything we ask you to;
we can switch Adult Content off, or suspend the region, if these rules are broken.

6. Conduct

Treat other residents with respect. You must not:

break the law, or use the grid to plan or promote illegal activity;
harass, threaten, stalk or discriminate against anyone;
post offensive content, or post adult themes outside Adult-rated regions;
post content that encourages or gives instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
post, show, sell or give pornographic content anywhere except in Adult Content regions (see below);
commit fraud or scams, or trade grid currency outside our official systems;
exploit bugs, attack or overload our servers, or disrupt other residents’ experience;
break the rules on child avatars in section 7.

Illegal activity results in an instant ban.

Pornographic content: only in Adult Content regions

Pornographic content is allowed only in Adult Content regions. It is not allowed in any other region, including Adult-rated regions, private regions and homes, or in profiles, groups and messages outside Adult Content regions.

We use the meaning given in the UK Online Safety Act 2023 (section 236): pornographic content is content that it is reasonable to assume was made only or mainly to cause sexual arousal. For example:

sexual activity between avatars, and sex animations, sex poseballs or sex furniture;
sexual pictures, textures, videos or media streams;
nudity, avatars or attachments shown in a sexual way;
erotic roleplay, in local chat, instant messages, groups, Wolf Chat, profiles or anywhere else;
selling, giving or advertising any of these, on the grid or in our marketplace.

Adult-rated regions may still have adult themes that are not pornographic, such as strong violence, horror and strong language.

Entering Adult Content regions. Only Wolf Territories residents who have passed our age check can enter. You take it once, on Verify my age: a photo ID and a live selfie, checked by Stripe. It is free. A date of birth is not enough. Visitors from other grids cannot enter, because we cannot check their age. We may remove a passed check if the account is shared or sold, is being used by someone under 18, or the check was passed by fraud.

Adult items. Items marked as adult may be bought and kept in your inventory by anyone, but only residents who have passed the age check may wear, rez, attach or use them, and only in Adult Content regions. Items are marked automatically when they come from an Adult Content region, by their creators on My adult items, or by our staff.

The rule covers what you rez, wear, play, show, sell or give. It does not stop you keeping items in your own inventory. We may remove pornographic content without notice, and breaking this rule can lead to suspension under section 10. Anything involving child avatars falls under section 7 and means an immediate, permanent ban.

If you see pornographic content outside an Adult Content region, report it in-world with Report Abuse, or tell us through a support ticket or the contact page. Include the region, the avatar or object names, and the time.

Region types

Every region has a type. Keep to what the type allows wherever you are.

What each region type allows
Type	Who can enter	What it may have
General	Everyone 15 and over	Everyday social life, games and mild cartoon combat. No sexual content, no nudity, no graphic violence.
Moderate	Everyone 15 and over	Mature themes, moderate violence and horror, swearing, and non-sexual partial nudity such as swimwear. Nothing sexual.
Adult	18 and over. Under-18 accounts cannot enter.	Strong violence and horror, strong language and adult themes. No pornographic or sexual content.
Adult Content	Only Wolf Territories residents who have passed our age check. Never visitors from other grids.	The only place where pornographic content between adult avatars is allowed.

Everywhere, whatever the type: nothing illegal, no sexual content involving child or child-like avatars, no sexual content from AI, and nothing that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.

7. Child avatars

Child avatars are permitted on Wolf Territories Grid. A child avatar is any avatar that looks, or is presented as, under 18, whatever the age of the person using it. Family roleplay, schools, play areas and similar activities are welcome.

Zero tolerance: immediate permanent ban

Any of the following results in an immediate, permanent ban of every account involved, without warning and without refund:

any sexual behaviour involving a child avatar, whether in actions, animations, poses, chat, instant messages, group notices, profiles or images;
a child avatar that is nude or partially nude;
creating, selling, sharing or displaying sexual or nude content that depicts child avatars.

This applies everywhere on the grid, including private regions, homes and adult-rated areas. Where the law requires it, or where we believe a real child may be at risk, we will report it to the police and other relevant authorities.

If you see this behaviour, report it to us straight away: in-world with Report Abuse, or through a support ticket or the contact page. Include avatar names, the region and the time. Do not take or send screenshots of sexual images of children; just tell us where they are.

8. AI characters and AI features

Wolf Territories offers features that use artificial intelligence (AI), including WolfNPC characters, WolfAvatars and AI building tools. To work, they send the text, prompts and pictures involved to third-party AI providers, such as Anthropic and Google.

No sexual content from AI, anywhere on the grid

Friendly, light-hearted flirting and banter with AI characters is fine. Anything sexual is not: sexual descriptions, sexual roleplay, sexual innuendo, nudity or sexual acts. This applies everywhere, including Adult-rated regions and Adult Content regions, and there is no setting to turn it off. AI characters will steer away from it, and will not store or repeat it.

You must not set up, teach or instruct an AI character to produce sexual content, or try to get around these limits. Doing so may lead to losing access to AI features, or to suspension under section 10. Anything involving child avatars falls under section 7.
You are responsible for the AI characters you create and place, in the same way as any other content you rez (section 5), including their personalities, what you teach them and where they are allowed to go.
AI can be wrong. What an AI character says is not advice, and is not a statement by Wolf Territories Grid or IntelligentWolf Ltd.
AI characters may remember what you tell them so they can talk to you again later. Do not give them personal details such as your address, phone number or passwords. You can ask a character to “forget me”, and it will delete what it has noted about you.
AI features are paid for with Wolf Credits by the person who sets them up. We show the price or an estimate before anything is charged.

9. Virtual currency, land and payments

Wolf Territories Dollars (WT$), Gloebits and Wolf Credits are limited licences to use features of the grid. They have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not your property.
Trading grid currency outside our official systems is not permitted.
Virtual land is a licence to use space on our servers for as long as you pay for it. It is not real property. Land is billed monthly in advance through Stripe.
If you cancel land, it stays yours until the end of the period you have paid for. Part-periods are not refunded.
Unused currency and land licences are not refunded, except where UK consumer law requires it.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

10. Suspension and termination

We may warn, suspend or permanently ban any account that breaks these terms. For serious breaches, including anything in section 7, we do this without notice. You can ask us to close your account at any time.

When an account is closed or banned, its inventory, land and virtual currency are forfeited and no refund is given. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Complaints and appeals. If you think we got a decision wrong, such as removing your content, acting against your account, or your age or access to a region, you can appeal. Raise a support ticket starting with “Appeal”, or use the contact page if you cannot log in. How appeals work, and how quickly we deal with reports, is on our Online Safety page.

11. Service and liability

The grid is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running and to back it up, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors, or that content will never be lost. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for loss of virtual items or currency. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Governing law and disputes

This website and the grid are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any dispute about these terms, the grid or its content, including disputed copyright ownership, will be decided by the courts of the United Kingdom.

If something goes wrong, contact us first through a support ticket or the contact page and we will try to resolve it.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If you keep using the grid after a change, you accept the updated terms.
